PHOTOWALK
August 11 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
We are arranging another out of season photo walk on Monday 11th August starting at 6.30pm, kindly organised by Susan.
These events are open to everyone (not just members) and a really good way to meet up with the club before joining.
We will meet by the private beach huts/public toilets at the junction between Meon Road and Cliff Road, the below link will take you straight to the parking area.
Car parking is free after 18:00:
Probable route:
Walk along the beach towards the sailing club and past Titchfield Harbour, along past the beach huts and back again.
Things to see:
Tide depending – wind surfers and kite surfers, super sunsets over the New Forest/Fawley
Small harbour with boats, colourful beach huts, birds (waders/turnstones etc), Kestrel can be seen hunting above the beach huts. I’ve also seen Kingfisher from the little bridge by the harbour. There’s a platform overlooking the nature reserve opposite the little harbour too. Last year, along the river in the opposite direction we’ve also seen the water vole in the evening.
There are no refreshments open in the evening here (a coffee van is around during the day). The Osborne View pub that was just past the beach huts was destroyed by fire and isn’t rebuilt yet. So if people want to go to a pub suggest they retrace their steps to Titchfield Village. Alternately people can bring their own refreshments and gather on the beach at the end of the walk.
