A return to the New Forest and the tall trees trail to catch some autumn colours maybe. Lyndhurst has road works so expect some hold ups!
Blackwater is Protected forest with trails leading through some of the oldest Douglas Fir trees in the country.
Large car park (free) and has public toilet. There is often a refreshment van there too.
The paths are easy to follow and are mainly flat (with the usual trip hazards of any forest). The tall trees are amazing and a circular route takes an hour or so – unless you stop to take photos of course!!
Rhinefield Ornamental Dr, Brockenhurst SO42 7QB (the car park is about half a mile before this postcode!). If you reach Rhinefield House you’ve missed it!
