Meet the Committee

Ron Harckham

Chairman

Ron Harckham, Chairperson for LHSCC club who has been interested in Photography for over 40 years. Ron does not specialise in any particular area of photography but has a soft spot for black and white photos. Important for Ron is that people enjoy the social aspects of the club as much as the photography and stresses that the club caters for all skill levels and photography interests.

David Kidd

Treasurer

My interest in photography started with a Kodak Box camera in the early 1960’s. Following a brief hiatus my enthusiasm was reignited in1973 when, as an itinerant hippie, I had the use of a Pentax! When I settled down, I joined Canon and stayed there for 23 years. As for being treasurer, on leaving school I became an articled clerk to a firm of chartered accountants and much more recently have been financial director to a residents’ association and briefly ran my own company.

Ross Underwood

Committee Member

Hi, my name is Ross Underwood and I have been a member of the Camera Club since 2011. I bought my first camera with my first month’s salary some many years ago! My main contribution to the Club is running six-week Basics Courses to help people get the best from their cameras. I also organise events – mostly photographing ‘outside’ people sharing their hobbies, dressing up, or general mania. I like to see people having fun with their photography and improving their skills. In addition to general photography, I am most interested in portraiture and wildlife, especially British birds and butterflies. My website is www.posbrookpics.uk

Nick Griggs

Committee Member

Nick has had a camera for as long as he can remember, but took a bigger interest in taking more than snapshots in late 2000’s and enjoys photographing a wide variety of subjects from landscapes to wildlife and weddings. I joined the club early 2018 and joined the committee in late 2020 as the youngest member.

Becky Woolard

Club Secretary

I have always enjoyed taking photos from a young age. I got my first dSLR around 10 years ago. I have a love of wildlife photography which goes alongside my love for travel too. I joined the club last year (2023) to branch out on more than just wildlife photography. I have found the club very welcoming with a mixture of abilities and interests.

Richard Cole

Programme Secretary

I joined the club a while back and enjoy the club evenings and photo-walks with like-minded photographers. I take a variety of images and particularly like street photography and am also enjoying creating black and white photographs. Having taken over as Programme Secretary it has been interesting to try and fill the calendar with good speakers, judges and practical evening challenges. Any ideas always welcomed!

Mark Evans

Committee Member

I joined the club in 2023 as a means to further my interest in photography, and catch up with the digital revolution after a hiatus of 40 odd years. Things have certainly changed since taking a film down to Boots and waiting 2 weeks for the inevitable disappointment! I don’t really have a speciality I like travel photography , macro and wildlife, but one great thing about the club is it allows you to try a wide variety of subjects with good humour and some good advice thrown in. I enjoy the competitions, and the social aspects, and the club seems to have a good balance for all levels, whilst not taking itself too seriously.

Linda Priestley

Committee Member

I joined the club in 2012 but although always enjoying photographing holidays and family as memories I only got a DSLR and started the addiction to photography in approx 2006. My main genre is wildlife and scenery. I originally organised the talks and competitions for a few years and now I am events committee member and amongst other things organised the clubs week long trip to Scotland which was fabulous fun and good photography My website is lindapriestley.zenfolio.com
